About the group
 On the 5th of October 2002 the Out of the Blue Drama Group will be together for 5 years. It has been a very busy and exciting 5 years for us all. Bernie Kelly started the group in Bluebell and little did we know how popular and successful it would become. Actors have come and gone for various reasons and Out of the Blue owes a lot to those who left their mark and influence on the group through their efforts on and off stage.
We were also very lucky to have from the beginning the opportunity to work with an excellent teacher and director in Derek Byrne. It would take a lot to quantify just how much Derek taught us in our early years. He believed in us, and inspired in us the confidence and ambition to go out and perform on a stage in front of a live audience, an initially daunting and scary prospect for inexperienced beginners. Derek had to leave the group due to work commitments and was greatly missed but he taught us well, allowing us to carry on and grow and become a great success.
We plan on carrying on for many many more years to come, enjoying ourselves while entertaining YOU the public. We look forward to your continued support in the process. |
