Monologue evenings
Out of the Blue has performed many monologue evenings which the cast members find challenging and rewarding. Performing a monologue evening gives the actor a chance to have the stage all to themselves. One may find this scary but to an actor that's part of the attraction and challenge. Being alone on stage may not be for everyone but the awareness that all eyes are focused on you and the sense of power and control can be a real adrenaline rush. Monologues are great for disciplining an actor. It enhances concentration and instils awareness. We at Out of the Blue have held many monologue nights at Tallaght Theatre and in the Bluebell Community Centre, where we also hold a lot of our rehearsals. A lot of hard work goes into preparing a monologue evening so it is rewarding and satisfying when our audience consider it a success.
